Health through Optimum Movement
Will Provide
Health of the
Physiological System
The Body and the Vital Organs of Heart, Lungs, Liver etc
The Bones, Ligaments, Tendons and Joints and Muscles
Our 10 years of clinical experience, the constant evolution of our program, the study of the biomechanics of human movement, anthropology and the physical development of babies to adulthood has allowed us to truly understand how we as humans are designed to move and the good health it brings. It has also unearthed startling differences between this optimum movement and the limited planes of movement most urban dwellers have settled for. Over the last century this creeping lack of movement correlates to the growth to epidemic proportions of many previously almost unknown illnesses such as heart disease, obesity, diabetes and back pain amongst others.
If we can begin to move correctly again then we can start to cut down the onset of these now common illnesses. (Goldthwait et al “Essentials of Body Mechanics”) If we can start to eat sensibly and provide ourselves with vital nutrients we can develop good health and build a strong immune system to fight illness. If you have poor physical posture with rounded shoulders, forward head and a pot belly your heart and lungs are compressed by your rib cage while other vital organs are pushed out of position down and forward. This is not healthy for these life giving organs. (Goldthwait et al “Essentials of Body Mechanics”)
In a society where opportunity to move is being gradually diminished with the constant automation of all formerly active tasks we will need help to regain the will for and ability to bring movement back into our life. How many people do you know who say they can’t squat, bend, run, and do sport? I am sure you will find the list is endless. Why should we settle for second best?
We observe that the majority of people who have been though our program have made enormous strides from the condition they came to us in. If optimum movement is not possible due to postural dysfunction, muscular imbalances, pain, poor nutrition and lifestyle choices an individual will need help. To achieve Health through Optimum Movement we may simply have to begin the right type of exercise program and adopt lifestyle changes or we may have to recruit the assistance of the following professionals.
Osteopaths
Corrective Exercise Specialists
