Jeff Murray - Corrective Exercise Specialist, Nutrition and Lifestyle Coach, High Performance Conditioning
Jeff@ambitionfitness.com I have been involved in the health and fitness industry since 1990. Early experience includes teaching group exercise classes of all types including circuit training, aerobics, step, body conditioning and beginner kickboxing |
amongst others. It was my experience of teaching classes of mixed ability that convinced me to become more involved in personal training as I could see very few people making real progress working on a teaching ratio of 1 to 30. I became 100% involved in personal training in 1993 and have since then continued to develop further skills in this area and beyond. I am a committed backcountry snowboarder and enjoy climbing both indoor and in the mountains. In the year 2000 I sustained a serious back injury which debilitated me for some months and it was this which kindled an interest in the treatment of injury and full rehabilitation from a pain and loss of function situation. In 2001 I set up our injury treatment clinic at the Queen Mother Sports Centre with osteopaths carrying out the diagnosis and manipulation. Unlike other Clinics where once the treatment is done you are given a few exercises and good luck, we developed the area of corrective exercise as a profession which allowed our patients not just to get moving again, but to reach a level of performance better than before their injury. Training as a Practitioner with the Chek Institute has allowed me to stay at the cutting edge of corrective exercise techniques by attending regular training courses and gaining exposure to other excellent physical therapists the world over.

William M Breckenridge – Sports Massage Therapist & Personal Trainer
will@ambitionfitness.com William M Breckenridge is a Sports Massage Therapist & Personal Trainer with Ambition Health and Performance. He acquired his certification in sports massage and diploma in personal training with Premier Training |
International. When you have an injury you develop compensatory movement patterns but these faulty movement patterns quite often remain after the pain has long gone. I believe the combination of sports massage, corrective exercise, and movement re-education to be very effective in the treatment of these common problems. Sports massage can alleviate pain and discomfort of existing problems but also can prevent injuries from occurring in the first place. By analysing the texture and consistency of the soft tissues the sports massage therapist can identify dysfunction within the tissues and use a variety of techniques to treat the problem areas. Sports massage can alleviate pain, reduce scar tissue, improve circulation, increase mobility, aid detoxification and the immune system, stimulate the body’s healing energy, induce deep relaxation, relieve anxiety and depression, as well as developing body awareness and peace of mind and much more...Moving and being active is a passion of mine. I have involved myself in many different sporting actives over the years but dedicating most of my time to swimming, mounting biking, running & basketball. Most recently I have just started rock climbing and intend this to be my new venture.
