| Whilst general advice tells us to keep our back straight and bend the knees whilst lifting objects from the floor, this advice is at best a half measure and can create conditions for further spinal injury. If we lose the ability to bend, squat, push, pull, twist and lunge we may as well get ready for disability. We have taught numerous back pain patients how to lift again whilst improving their mobility and life quality innumerably. Mummification is not an option; learn how to move again with confidence by developing a strong core and a mobile spine. It may be a slow process to build up the strength required, however we have worked with numerous disc patients who can once again perform functional movements with confidence and lift heavy objects from the floor.
